How It All Started
Hi, my name is Michelle & I am a home-based, small-batch baker located in Carpentersville, IL.
As owner of My Cookie Cottage, I am here to help make the special events, milestones and memories in your life a bit sweeter!
How in the world did my cookie journey begin? Years ago, as a mom of two young kids, my daughter and I would often bake together so I could contribute unique and affordable snacks to their sporting, school and theater events. It became a way for me to use my creativity while bonding with my daughter. Over the years, she finally grew up and moved away for college. With no more kid activities, my love for baking began to shift and I started creating sweet treats for family and friends. Quickly, my hobby grew when people started asking me to make cookies for their other personal events.
Thanks to my husband Alfredo, who pushed me to realize that my talent and love for baking and decorating could grow into a small business. I started seeing potential in starting a side hustle and creating cookie dreams for other families. With support from my daughter, husband and family, I decided to get my food handler license, registered my company as an official Cottage business and applied for my LLC…and My Cookie Cottage finally became an official business! Right now I am known as “Teacher by day” and “Cookier by night”, but I plan to put this into full swing in retirement! I hope you will allow me to help you make your guests and family smile with custom-made sugar cookies personalized for your very special occasions!

Want to try your hand at decorating sugar cookies, but don’t want the hassle of having to make, cut and bake dough or mix endless frostings? This kit will provide everything necessary to make12 of your own creations. Each kit includes12 pre-baked 3 to 4 inch cookies, frosting in piping bags, sprinkles and instructions/pictures. Have all the fun without all the work!
Paint Your Own Kit
Let your little ones decorate by “painting” outlined cookies. A great way to keep those kiddos busy at your parties. Tons of fun without the mess! And the best part? They get to eat their creations! Each kit comes with 12 3-4 inch iced and outlined cookies, edible ‘watercolors’ and 4 mini paint brushes.
Minis (Mini-Cookies)
This is a great way to add volume to your custom sets. These cookies are approximately 2 inches and have simple designs that will complement your large cookie set. These are great for small appetites and for those who can’t just have one! Mini cookies are only available as an "add on" to any other custom order.
